Abstract
The impact of the total weight of an automobile on its exploitation efficiency is investigated. It is determined that the economic efficiency, environmental safety,
comfortability and the movement safety form the efficiency of the vehicle. The classification scheme of the factors forming the exploitation efficiency of the vehicle is provided. It is shown that the weight of the vehicle, appearing as a constructive factor, affects the traction-speed characteristics, manoeuvrability and stability, as well as the braking system, fuel economy etc. The regularity of the impact of the vehicle weight on the risk of the traffic participants’ health is revealed.
