Abstract

By the finite element method, a computational model for studying the process of deformation of the truck frame unit is developed. In the considered node of the frame, the longitudinal and transverse beams are connected by gussets. The shelves of longitudinal and transverse beams are connected with gussets of rivetted joints. The required minimal number of nodes and maximal dimensions of finite elements around the holes of rivetted joints are estimated. The problem of torsion of the frame node is considered, the most dangerous areas are identified. The developed calculation model allows to reduce the operating stress by changing the design parameters of the studied node.
