Abstract

The issue of political stability is one of the most relevant topics of modern political science. Destabilization is accompanied by an increase in the level of civil disobedience and tension in society, as well as by the decrease in the effectiveness of conflict resolution and of the management of social processes. The article analyzes factors and threats to the political stability of Armenia. The author highlights two main factors of influence: 1) external – the Karabakh conflict and
militarization of the region and 2) internal – the lack of legitimacy, operationalizing the latter into the level of civil disobedience. For a deeper analysis, the Stability index of the political system of Armenia is calculated in a span of 2000-2017 years. Through the regression analysis, the factors, influencing the political stability of Armenia most of all, are also revealed.
