Abstract

The sorption of five cationic porphyrins and metalloporphyrins as well as well-known anionic photosensitizers (chlorin e6 and Al-phthalocyanine) was investigated with zeolite nano-particles. It is shown that the percentage of adsorption of porphyrins with zeolite nanoparticles is more than 90 and that the predominant mechanism of binding is electrostatic binding of cationic porphyrins with the negatively charged zeolite nanoparticles.
