Abstract
By the finite element method a calculation model is developed for the process of the frontal collision with a partial overlap of the car body. The highly non-linear deformation process of the car body at the frontal collision of 40% partial overlap with the set initial velocity is investigated. The deformed view of the body, the distribution of stresses and strains,the change in the proposed kinetic energy of the body, the values of the reaction force components of the static barrier, the change in the component values of the average of the car body points’ velocities are determined. By changing the geometric parameters and the types of
the applied materials, different versions of structures are considered, two of which are presented in the article introduced.
