Abstract
The following text focuses on the challenges and the specificities of the digital media in the design context. The starting point is considered the start of the theory of the digital paradigm in the early 1990s as well as the relationship between the theory and the practice. The focus of the paper is the break between the theory and the practice in recent years and the effects of the abovementioned brake as well as the challenges of the use of the digital tools from a position of a consumerist rather than an author and a creative.
