Abstract
The article presents the historical route of the Ashtarak urban community, key urban factors, availability of various resources, motives for development, the possibilities of preserving and using cultural heritage, assessment of environmental issues and the architectural monuments, which are a part of the Kasakh river gorge, additional affect of the North-South transport corridor to the historical heritage based tourism aspect and it’s new punctions role in the economy development process are introduced in the article.
