Abstract

Term "potential of conservation of the architectural heritage of fortresses-settlements" is proposed, which is interpreted as the sum of knowledge about the historical appearance and the conservation of the architectural heritage of fortress settlements. As an optimal form of generalization of such knowledge and assessment of conservation potential, it is suggested to consider the Consolidated Register of data on architectural heritage of fortressessettlements. Thus, the magnitude of the conservation potential of a specific fortress-settlement is associated with the degree of possible restoration or reconstruction of its historical appearance.
