Abstract

The main problems of sharp difference of heights between the newly built buildings and the existing ones аs well as the reasons of constructing multistoried buildings in the city center and their influence on the features of the environmental picture are presented. The comparative data of the international public attitude and the UNECSO’s responses about the multistoried buildings located in the centers of a number of foreign cities are presented. In order to clarify the architectural criteria of the visual perception of the center of Yerevan city, some standards regulating the heights of the buildings are proposed.
