Abstract

Numerous Armenian historical monuments have received various levels of detriment from 1988 Spitak’s disruptive earthquake. During the research, an attempt is made, by investigating the dilapidation level of churches in Shirak Region RA, categorize them by their volumetric strength, and after to evaluate the level of their vulnerability. Heretofore in those small studies carried out on the seismic risk assessment for Armenian historical monuments, complex-architectural research facilities are not available. This paper is an attempt to fulfill this gap, which may be continuous, covering the churches of all marzes of Armenia and historical Armenia as well.
