ՃԱՐՏԱՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ, ՊԱՏՄՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ

Abstract

In the 19th-20th cc. self-government institutions of Yerevan city were Electoral Meetings, Municipal Duma and Municipal Council. Municipal Duma was elected in a period of 4 years, the deputies were called “Dzaynavorner” (so were called people who had voting right). Municipal Duma had its board which had 3 members and was run by the mayor. Yerevan Municipal Duma was opened on the 1st of October in 1879 and the building of Duma was built by the project of architect B. Mehrabyan in Temple (Sobornaya) Square in 1906-1907.
