Abstract

The article reveals the issues of reusing the industrial zones in cities located in developed countries. The problem originated in the 1970`s, the decade of the transition between the industrial and postindustrial societies. Due to the liquidation of business facilities and the movement of the population to the suburbs, entire cities and districts were abandoned, thus giving a rise to social and cultural degradation. Meanwhile the industrial zones occupy large areas, and they have a big architectural potential because of their favorable location.
