Abstract

The local self-government system is already undividable part of public administration system of Armenia and the mechanism for realization of democratic principles. But the questions of what model of local self-government we have adopted and implement now and if that model is the most appropriate one for the geopolitical system of Armenia have no answers yet. The article is devoted to the description of the development of the local selfgovernment system in Armenia and to the analyses of the models of local selfgovernment and their theoretical bases which has been formatted and used in different countries. But the primary goal of the article is to present the main similarities and differences of Armenian system of local self-government with the models which are commonly used in international practice
