Abstract

Article is presenting the theoretical and practical aspects of the problem, the level of effectiveness of legal specialist- social worker tandem, estimates of social worker service given by couples of Iran's Khusistan province and their suggestions how to increase its effectiveness. The study results on world practice and the Iranian practice of last 70 years in the field are discussed in the article. The sociological survey among 180 Iranian couples attending the social worker by court guidance during last five years has revealed the degree of 50% effectiveness. The personal characteristics of the client, security in couple's relations and the social worker visit voluntariness were identified as factors influencing on the effectiveness of social worker intervention. The recorded suggestions of respondents on how to increase the effectiveness of social worker's intervention in couple’s conflict resolution and marital stability are good tools for social welfare, health care policy developers and practitioners.
