Abstract
The article examines external economic shocks that have a significant impact on Armenian economy, their impact on macroeconomic indicators and the role of fiscal policy in mitigating the negative impacts of external shocks. For the purposes of the assessment, the Global Integrated Monetary and Fiscal (GIMF) model was used, which is a dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model developed by International Monetary Fund. As the fiscal impulse policy increases the state budget deficit and, consequently, the public debt, the article reviews the ways to compensate budget losses through other fiscal tools.
