Abstract

We, Armenians, are peaceful people and at all times of our existence the nation and Army were a single body supporting and complementing each other. Even in the absence of the Armenian state, the Armenian military were distinguished by courage and enthusiasm. The military history of Armenia has not sufficiently studied, while the world’s Armies marches through the pages of the textbooks of our history. Thanks to the foreign and domestic sources that contain rich material, the recent researches have started to fill this gap. Accordingly with the periods of the history of Armenia, the Armenian military forces had their stages of development, during which they were distinguished by high discipline, brilliant skills of military art, loyalty to the oath, striving for victory, nobility and unity with the nation.
