Abstract
The article is devoted to analysis of the military specific substantive phraseological units in the English language. It differentiates completely and partially reinterpreted idioms with the structure of phrases which are used to refer to a person or object. The author concludes that substantive military phraseology is anthropocentric, as idioms are related directly to the person and everything associated with him, and evaluative, as the significant number of idioms has positive or negative rating.
