Abstract

The article discusses the main document regulating relations between Georgia and NATO, as well as the main directions of cooperation. In particular, participation of Georgian military servicemen in regional security programs of NATO, the implementation of reforms in the defense sector of the country, scientific, informational and other programs. In spite of the existing active cooperation, the issue of permanent membership of Georgia in NATO is delayed due to the lack of consensus in the organization and a number of reasons. In turn, the repeated failures in obtaining membership gave rise to the Georgian public and political space as a mixed assessment with respect to this particular fact, and on the country's foreign policy as a whole.
