Abstract

Andranik Ozanian was one of the best leaders during the Fidayi battle which was a part of national liberation movement begun in Western Armenia in the end of XIX century. Andranik was a person who devoted all his life to the sacred battle for the liberty of his nation by becoming a Fidayi out of a gun repairer. Ozanian who was devoted to the Armenian liberation war had an important role especially in the second phase of the Fidayi battle the most impressive moment of which was the war of Arakelots Monastery. By struggling against the Ottoman despotism for a long time Andranik proved that even with small military forces it is possible to win the enemy if everybody acts together and is not afraid of the enemy’s predominance. By following Ankranik’s heroic character many generations were educated like him and will be educated in the future.
