Abstract

The article discusses the significance of the issue of “complementarism” doctrine of the foreign policy orientation of geopolitical “Coast zone” /rimland/ countries on the Republic of Armenia’s example. Rimland is endowed with its own historical will, but that can’t be realizes out of the main geopolitical conflict. In essence it’s an intermediate territory between conservatism and chaos, and the balance of those, which is as well the main guarantee of the civilization stability and progress, to a considerable extent depends on the orientation and activity of this zone. The author has analyzed the advantages of complementary foreign 5 policy of the Independent Armenia and the consequences of waiving this on the staunchness both of its country and the relations of the geopolitical poles, as well as on the international /especially regional/ stability. The author concludes that the usage of the geopolitical principles, standards and tools should be the basic element of daily internal and foreign policy of the “coast zone” countries, without of which this policy changes into a pure situational, defensive, adaptive and primitive behavior.
