Abstract

This article does analyze biographies of the four Armenian Ambassadors to the Islamic Republic of Iran. The importance of Iran as a partner for the Armenian political and economic development and significance of Armenian Embassy in Tehran is discussed. The authors do research on career way of Armenian Ambassadors Vahan Barbutyian, Gegam Gharibjanyan, Karen Nazaryan and Grigor Arakeliyan in details. The authors stress that all the Ambassadors have had a very rich experience of Oriental studies, diplomatic work and skills of manager behind. It is this successful combination of gifts of researcher, diplomat and decision-maker that helped the Ambassadors to meet the foreign policy challenges and to advance the Armenia-Iran friendly relations in different fields. Thus, ambassadorship in Tehran has become a very important diplomatic appointment in Armenia foreign policy implementation process.
