Abstract
In Armenia, like every other country, social networking sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, etc, are widely used not only to keep in touch with friends, share thoughts, but also to get and share news and information about the country, nation, and the world. Social media is very different from traditional media, which mostly produced one-way communication and is about “broadcast”, social media is better seen as twoway conversation. But the social media doesn’t just coexist with traditional media – as another channel for public communications, it also changes traditional media. Social networking is widely used by the society, media companies, Public communities and by the government itself. Nearly all the Armenian media companies make use of social media, with the help of which they increase their audience, communicate with them and get acquainted with the problems of population.
