Abstract
Runway is the most important element of the airport operations, thus even the smallest foreign object can have a great impact on the airplanes, which, in turn, creates an emergency situation sometimes causing tragic outcome. That is why the inspection of the runway and adjacent sections, detection and removal of foreign objects are of great importance for ensuring the safety of the aircraft takeoff and landing as well as for the regular operation of the airport. Visual and equipped types of runway inspections are considered in the article.
