Abstract

The preservation of the cultural heritage of Ashtarak town and the urban construction problems existing there are addressed hereby. Current urban and architectural problems of the town and prospects of their immediate solutions are summarized. Research is grounded on direct and indirect studies on Ashtarak's historical monuments carried out in the initial phase of the thesis prepared in the framework of a joint study program at the NUACA and Milan Polytechnic University from 2011 to 2014. Research includes primary studies of Ashtarak town's historical monuments, their current state and the urban construction problems existing in the historical district of the town.
