Abstract
The animation is introduced from rock art up to nowadays. Information about unearthed historical artifacts, important inventions, innovations and remarkable events is given. Animation types and the peculiarities of its creation, prominent animators and factors influencing animation are described. Based on current trends assumptions are offered for the future developments in the animation sphere.
