The implementation of value engineering method in the construction projects incorporated too many challenges which have technical, administrative, behavioral, and social reasons. Value engineering method was firstly implemented in the USA, and now it is widely used in the public and private sectors of many developed countries. Value engineering problems in construction projects are discussed hereby as well as some results of the implementation of this method in the states of Gulf Cooperation Council and the UAE are described.
