Abstract

Concrete despite its high resistance has disadvantages like brittleness and lack of tensile strength. In order to settle this defect, we may use polypropylene fibers because of its desired characteristics and being economical. Using certain quantities of these fibers won’t have undesirable effects on their mechanical properties. In this research, we study the effect of propylene fibers on compressive strength and tensile resistance of high resistance concrete. Propylene fibers with different lengths 6, 12, 18 millimeter were utilized in concrete. Results show that the compressive strength and tensile strength has been increased by propylene fibers.
