Abstract
The article analyses V.A. Mazilev’s work where he uses metaphors that are not typical for academic psychology. In the analysis, the problems of dual structure of mentality, the subject of psychology, methods of study, questions of fragmentation of psychological knowledge and the possibilities of its integration are discussed.
In the context of this article issues about understanding transcendental psychology as a concept that describes the basic, fundamental part of mentality and “indifferent” attitude of academic psychology towards it are discussed.
