Philosophy of Aristotle has played an outstanding role in the processes of formation and development of Armenian medieval philosophy, and in shaping philosophical viewpoints of Armenian thinkers of different epochs, so this gives a basis for circulating the concept of “ Armenian Aristotelianism”. In Armenian medieval philosophy, Aristotelianism has been manifested a) in translations and commentaries of Aristotle’s works; b) in the expansion of Aristotelian philosophy; and by using Aristotelian quests, methods, notions, and ideas during discussions and resolutions of theological-philosophical questions. Armenian Aristotelianism as a philosophical and civilizational-culturological value presents scientific interest as a) it is a part of world (in this case: European) Aristotelianism having specifics of self-performance; b) it is connected with the Greek, Byzantine, Latin and partially Eastern peripatetism; c) it is a key for understanding and evaluating of Armenian medieval philosophy as a part of medieval European (Christian) philosophy; d) Armenian translations of Aristotle can be used for editing critical texts of his works.
