Аннотация

Aragatsotn was the central region in Ayrarat province. During the Arshakuni period (52/66-428) the Aragatsotn, as well as the other regions in Ayrarat province were considered to be the possessions of the Armenian Kings and only the King and the Prince had the right to live in the territories. But that tradition was broken by the Arshakunis themselves and in the first half of the IV c. they started to donate possessions to the princely homes, such as the Mamikonyans and the Amatunies, for their military services. Later, in the middle of the IV c. the Gnuni princely dynasty got established in Mastara. Later the Amatunies got established in Oshakan. During the of Arab invasions and reign in the middle of the VII c. the Big Prince Grigor Mamikonyan (661-685) got established in the village of Arutch. Then Nerseh Kamsarakan (689-693) got established in Talin, Aragatsotn. The princely families played an important role not only in the inner and outer policy of the country, but also managed to create cultural values that we have possessed in the form of churches and other structures.
