Abstract

The princely family of the Mamikonyans after the defeat of the popular uprising of the eighth century in the political life of Armenia began to play a small role. They kept their domination in Bagrevand, Taron - Sasoun and a number of regions of Armenia. For a short time, the Mamikonyans were able to create one of the strong Armenian princedoms of their time in the Taron Sasoun and in the neighboring regions. But the principality of the Mamikonyan-Tornikyans was defeated in the struggle against the surrounding Muslim principalities. The last strong Armenian principality disappeared in southern Armenia
