Abstract

In the period between 1925 and 1932, there were several partnerships of painters, architects, and musicians. Exhibitions, concerts and a variety of art events were
organized on a regular basis. Heated discussions were held on the prospects of the development of national school of painting. However, the decision made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party (of Bolsheviks) of the Soviet Union in 1932 about the formation of art (creative) unions changed the situation drastically. All the associations and guilds established before were abolished and replaced by the unified creative (art) unions which were meant to promote the dominant ideology and policy.
