The art-amateur society remembers Karapet (Charles) Adamian – who won his artistic fame in the European environment – as a maritime painter. However, alongside the maritime paintings, the artist dedicated his creativity to book illustration, poster and theatre scenography. At the same time, Adamian was a skillful portraitist – a talent that brought him great fame in the artistic realm of Paris. The article introduces the most famous portraits by the artist which make the analysis of the Artist’s works and Adamian’s image as a portraitist complete.
