Due to the inscription from 1558 on the southern wall of St. Astvatsatsin / St. Vergin church of Saghmosavank, that has been deciphered by us, the town of
Gavar in Gegharkuonik region, Syunik Province used to be the possession of Saghmosavank in Aragatsotn in the Middle Ages.
