Sound as a physical and spiritual phenomenon had an unprecedented role in the emergence and continual development of the human being. In the course of development, naturally, the human being has preserved the memory and experience of his vocal-cultural beginning in the text created by him. The sound being the minimal identifiable segment of speech has semantic significance – it is the first unit in the sound (phoneme) – word (name, concept) – speech (text) hierarchical chain. Therefore, the sound (phoneme) is not only a unit of language but also a unit of speech in terms of semantic charge. The sound is a sign of existence in general but having the potential of being perceived, it is especially a sign of cultural being. This system has its reflection in the context – totality of the texts created in Armenian – where the sound has gained a meaning of value system. The sound expresses cognitive synonymy with life, and antonym of sound i.e.silence – with death. Not only linguistic science but also fiction was created and is being created the main character being the sound in all its hierarchic, synonymic chain.
