Analyzing the information about the younger brother of Voskan Yerevantsi preserved in the literary monuments of the early printed book, the author shows irrefutable factsabout the vital role he had played in the history of Armenian typography not only by redeeming the printing house of Mattheos Tsaretsi and donating it to Voskan, but also by personally being engaged in the printing business, he had published five books and then, till the end of his life, had an active participation in the work of the printing house he had bought himself. Taking this into consideration, the author of the article offers to present Avedis not merely as a merchant as it has so far been done, but at least as a “merchant-publisher” in the studies devoted to the history of the Armenian book.
