The prominent chronicler of XIV-XV centuries, teacher Gevorg vardapet Yerznkatsi (1350?-1416) is the author of some preachments, homilies and sermons. In
1970 the renowned scientist V. Hakobyan prescribed to him also the recurrent edition of the manuscript tradition “B” of the Kanonagirk ( “Armenian Book of Canons”), relying on the colophon of Hakob Ghrimetsi (1360-1426) where he informed that his teacher Gevorg “worked a lot and added what was missed in the text”. Having studied the manuscript tradition “B” of the Kanonagirk, in particular, those of them which contained records of Hakob Ghrimetsi, and also a number of copies which are combined with them, we consider that Gevorg Yerznkatsi did not edit or modify manuscript tradition “B” within the frames of 78 canon groups, and also in XIV century (till 1392) only copied a manuscript Kanonagirk, using already existing manuscripts of two subgroups of manuscript tradition “B”. That is, Gevorg Yerznkatsi preliminarily started to copy his Kanonagirk from a manuscript group, consisting of 40 canon groups, from the manuscript belonging to the initial manuscript tradition “B” (see MM, man. 656, 654), and then added it with a copy of the edited by Gevorg Skevratsi
(Lambronatsi) variant (see MM, man. 7615, 8964, 2676, 10137). Further from the Kanonagirk of Gevorg Yerznkatsi number of copies were made in the consequence of what a new “artificial” subgroup of manuscript tradition “B” of Kanonagirk was formed (see MM, man. 3368, 10311, 9513, 1788 and etc.).
