Recently we have copied two inscriptions in Saghmosavank which due to their height and the sorry state of deterioration were neglected by the previous investigators. The author of those two inscriptions was the prominent XIII century prince Kurd A Vachutyan together with his Master Khorishah. The first inscription states the fact that in 1241 the church St. Sion of Saghmosavank was decorated with a golden cross. The second one states the fact of his donation of the title of Kurd by the Mongol rulers, the fact of establishment of the See in the monastery , building of the new church and undertaking the restoration works of the gavit (naos). We think that the gavit was built by architect Mkhitarich Oshakantci whose name we found abbreviatedly inscribed on the ceiling of the gavit.
