Abstract
On the basis of analysis of the existing archival documents and the correspondence of the leaders of the organizers of the University with the officials of the
Republic of Armenia of that time and relying on the facts of the memoirs of the contemporaries, the date of founding the research library of Yerevan State University is being specified. At the same time, the names and identities of its first organizers and managers are being revealed.
