Abstract
There are three guiding principles in punctuation: logical-semantic, syntactic, intonational. This arrangement is implemented in the following ways: (a) in a subordinate relationship, where the logical-semantic basis usually prevails; (b) in a coordinate relationship, where the role of the syntactic basis is activated; and (c) separately, which has practically limited manifestations. The requirement for unifying or strictly fixing punctuation is not practically justified. On the contrary, punctuation marks, being the so-called written expressions of diversity and richness of spoken words, should have freer usage principles than spelling. In all three of the above-mentioned ways, it is inappropriate to define strict rules and strict convention. It is permissible to consider certain freedoms, in particular the possibility of choosing options, unless this contravenes the content of the statement or violates the syntax of the regular structure.
