Abstract

The article covers the activities of the Berlin delegation of the Republic of Armenia and its position on the new geopolitical events in the region at the end of the World War II. The delegation, as well as the Armenian government, did not realistically assess the chances and risks that emerged in the fall of 1918 when the Soviet Russia re-entered the region. While this unrealistic perception of Russia’s role due to its underestimation had no negative consequences for Armenia in 1918 because the war ended soon, in 1920, when there was a similar situation in the Caucasus, the policy of the Armenian government, characterized by the same unrealistic perception, caused serious consequences for Armenians.
