Abstract

The article depicts a certain period (1878-1922) of Vahan Tekeyan's creative life, a Western Armenian and Diasporan Armenian literary, social, cultural and national figure. Although Tekeyan lived relatively longer (about 66 years) than many of his literary contemporaries, his life was full of many deprivations and mental sufferings. Even while living in different countries and cities, Tekeyan always had a dedication to the problems of Constantinople Armenians and Western Armenians. The activities which he carried for the sake of national regeneration were one of the crucial events, which shaped the Western Armenian literature in the first two decades of the 20th century and later on served as a basis for the formation and development of Diasporan Armenian literature.
