Նորահայտ միջնադարյան հնձան Կապանի տարածաշրջանում

Abstract

In 2016 archeological expedition of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia conducted archaeological research in the territory of the villages of Artsvanik and Chapni of Syunik Marz. In the course of the work, the territories located near the tailing dump of the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine were investigated, as well as excavations were carried out. The purpose of the excavations was to identify and study archaeological monuments of the surroundings of the tailing dump.

Among the numerous architectural structures and individual buildings, a medieval winepress was also found. This article presents the main results of the excavations of the newly found winepress, as well as considers some issues of viniculture and winemaking in Syunik.
