Abstract

The article presents the history of friendship and parting of two Armenian writers - Levon Zaven Syurmelyan and Vahan Tekeyan during 1920s. Relying on the letters, literary reviews and other materials written to each other, as well as on some literary-critical estimates and interpretations, the author shows that literary, social and political thoughts, as well as personal traits and characteristic features of the two writers had an impact on the relationship between Tekeyan and Syurmelyan, which on the one hand promoted the establishment of friendship between them, and were an obstacle for the continuation of that friendship, on the other hand.
