Հեյդար Ալիևի վերադարձի քաղաքական առանձնահատկությունները

Abstract

The present article analyzes the preconditions of Heydar Aliyev’s return and the existing situation on the eve of presidential elections in Azerbaijan in 1993. An attempt has been made to understand the main motivations that brought the former communist leader to power. Aliyev’s return to politics played a huge role in the development of the internal political situation in newly independent Azerbaijan and especially on the further course of Karabakh war. Since Aliev’s return to power, the dictatorship with emphasized elements of personality cult was established. The anti-Armenian propaganda, which makes it increasingly impossible to establish peace in the region, continues to play a significant role in the restrictions of Azerbaijani public.
