Աբդուլ Համիդ II-ը հայերի մասին

Abstract

The article is devoted to the examination of the reflection of the Armenian question and Armenian massacres (1894-1896) in the memoirs of sultan Abdul Hamid II. Even though the Red Sultan had mentioned these problems, he had tried to present the Armenian massacres as the result of internal disassociation of Armenians and thus veiling the real intentions of his policy towards the Armenians. The memoirs of sultan Abdul Hamid II represents that the policy of denial and falsification of the historical facts widely used in the modern Turkish historiography was initiated in the Ottoman period.
