Abstract

1965, the 50th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide can be considered as an important and probably the main starting point for the formation, development and application of the policy of the Republic of Turkey towards the problem of the Armenian Genocide. The developments and processes connected with the international recognition of the Genocide took place in Soviet Armenia and Armenian Diaspora in 1965 and made Turkey take some antisteps which were spontaneous at first, but after some time became the basis of Turkish policy of denial and anti-Armenian propaganda. The same policy with certain changes and additions continues at present. The article is devoted to the starting point, i.e. 1965, of the Turkish policy of denial and anti-Armenian propaganda, its comparison with the modern situation and analysis of the “evolution” of all these processes.
