Abstract

The problems of the present generations of forcibly Islamized Armenians of Hamshen remain the major focus of researchers. The paper presents the consequences of the forcible Islamization-Turkization policy, carried out in the Ottoman Empire, particularly, the present perception of their identity by Hamshenians. Islamization policy is qualified as a special form of genocide.
