Abstract

By studying varieties and common features of the Armenian and Georgian languages, the principles and methods of the art of translation at various language levels, the author of the article has come to the following conclusion: a. the translator has manifested an exceptional insight of the Armenian and Georgian languages; b. the original text and the translation are almost adequate concerning their versification and artistic merit; c. the literary work, to the utmost level, meets the requirements of verse translation; d. Givi Shahnazar has managed to provide the Georgian reader with the unique and mysterious world of Armenian Hayrens.
