Abstract
The article presents the conceptual foundations by means of which it becomes possible to evaluate the historiography of the history of the first Republic of Armenia from apolitical and academic positions, which was one-sided as it was created on different and opposing ideological fronts.
One of the conceptual bases of this assessment is considered the history that the Soviet historiography had a hostile attitude towards the Republic of Armenia, but most of these historical arguments have not lost their relevance. Many historians, in spite of ideological objections, wanted to get closer to the historical truth.
The next part deals with the Diaspora Armenian and particularly Dashnak historiography, which is often marked by narrowness, therefore, proposed all ratings are not acceptable.
In addition, it is stated that both in the Soviet era and after it an attempt was made to create a nonpolitical historiography in the Diaspora, the same approach was applied in the post-Soviet period in Armenian homeland. The historiography of the history of the First Armenian Republic can fully be appreciated only by considering these conceptions.
